Yosemite’s Tuolumne River One of the Country’s Most Endangered

The Tuolumne is a beautiful river that begins in Yosemite and passes through much of park but often goes unseen by visitors. Now, plans to divert more river water from the Hetch Hetchy Dam to the city of San Francisco have left environmental groups concerned.

SFGate.com: “Two California rivers will be listed among the nation’s most threatened by a national environmental group.

Today, in its annual release of the country’s 10 most endangered rivers, the group American Rivers is listing the Sierra’s Tuolumne River as No. 8 and Southern California’s Santa Clara River as No. 10.”
