Come See The Fire
Passed by the Gin Flat Prescribed Burn on my way to the Flickr Yosemite Group meetup this morning at 4:30 am. I must say, it’s the most amazing thing you’ll ever see. The burn is right along Highway 120/Tioga Road and is almost a mile and a half long. The road isn’t blocked so you can see fire in the forest first hand. If you can get up to the park to see this I recommend it. Especially in the early morning or late night hours when it’s very dark. The forest lit by the fire is fantastic. Becareful of smoke on the roadway though and watch for fire vehicles and personel.
This is one of the most awesome things I’ve ever seen.
