A Simple Rule
The other day, when my wife and I were in Curry Village, we witnessed 3 Asian men down on their hands and knees on the path between the store and the pizza shop trying to coax a squirrel into letting them touch it (would have had pics but I wasn’t fast enough with my camera).
I shouldn’t have to say this but…
DON’T PET THE SQUIRRELS!
Don’t feed the squirrels. Don’t pet the squirrels. Don’t feed the deer. Don’t feed the bears either. Damn sure don’t try to pet the freakin’ bears.
Feed the Rangers if you want. Bake ‘em some cookies. Maybe a nice cake. I’m pretty sure they’d like that. But they’re the only animals you can feed!

Good advice about the squirrels, and most any wild animal for that matter.
A small point. I wonder about identifying these people as asian men. Their ethnicity doesn’t seem too relevant to this post and might play into certain unfortunate stereotypes.

Sterotypes are based on some truth. There are a large number of japanese tourists that come to Yosemite. I think it’s implied that they could be Japanese tourists.
