Where’s a good spot to fly fish in Yosemite in late May?
John wrote in with a great question:
I’m going to be doing some fly fishing with some buddies in Yosemite NP in late May and was wondering which of the creeks, rivers/lakes would be best to fly fish at that time. I have been told the Spring runoff will make a lot of the waters completely unfishable (and dangerous), but unfortunately, the trip is “set in stone” already.
Any ideas for some good waters and/or flies (streamers/wet/nymphs/dry??). We are novice to intermediate and our preference would be smaller creeks rather than huge rivers. Lakes would be fine if they are fly fishable.
Well unfortunately John, I can’t tell you. Well, I mean, I can tell you but everyone knows a good fisherman NEVER gives up his secret spot. *whispers: I’ll send you an email.*
As for the rest of you, if you’re wondering what I told John, you’ll just have to send me an email too.
