I actually don't like to hike in any adverse weather conditions. I know it adds an extra element of a challenge and sometimes it can be quite beautiful to see snow and ice on the ground, but to me it's just not worth the hassle.

Planning a backcountry trip in Jan 07...would like to take the mist trail to Little Yosemite Valley, Merced and beyond. Would snow shoes be a necessity or can we get by with ice spikes and such....not planning to visit any of the high elevation trails...Glaicer point perhaps... Thanks for any input you might have.
