Tioga Road Plowing Set to Begin April 16

It’s official Tioga Road plowing is set to begin on April 16 barring the more snow. There’s no official update as to opening yet but plowing usually takes several weeks.

I don’t know about you but I’m anxious to get over the Pass.

Weird, unverified, unofficial word around the village is that they are hoping to open the high camps “two weeks early” this year.

Er, when do they open normally? Tough one to answer. They didn’t open at all in 2005. They opened in July last year.

More as I hear of it.

Well, with the reports on the snowpack being only 46% of “normal” (Really will impact my fishing!), I wouldn’t be surprised if it opens early, and I hope to be there shortly thereafter.

My wife and I are planning a trip in May and really hoping to spend it in Tuolumne. What do you think our chances are of having the road open by May 19?
