Didn’t that tree die in 1976?

This tree is located on the SouthWest side of Sentinel Dome. It is not the famous “Jeffrey Pine” taken by Ansel Adams. That “Jeffrey Pine” is still on top, but has been dead for quite some time. The remains are still there.
