Foreign Tourism Climbs in Yosemite
With the US Dollar down foreign tourism is on the rise and Yosemite officials are already feeling the pressure as booking for the summer season begin.
KCRA 3: “‘We see a fluctuation in Asian visitation and European visitation but everything we’re seeing so far –bookings, reservations, it’ll be a real big year for international visitation,’ said Scott Gediman of the National Park Service.
Foreign tourists said the trip to Yosemite is more attractive than ever due to a weakened U.S. dollar.
‘We spend the money very happy,’ said Saling Wong, a Taiwanese tourist who is currently visiting Yosemite. ‘We buy a lot of things we want.’
Yosemite welcomes three and half to four million visitors a year.”

Being from Europe myself I can confirm that I’m looking forward to our upcoming vacation. The $/EUR-exchange is really “beautiful” as I’m getting close to $1.6 for one EUR today. However I must not forget to mention that we also came to the US when the exchange rate was more like $0.84 for one EUR. So we are coming regardless of exchange rates as we just love America!
