I've heard stories that the Yosemite Falls moonbow was part of a coming of age ritual for the natives living in the valley, ages ago. The moonbow is a revered spirit of the valley.

Does anyone have more information about this? I'm curious to know whether this knowledge has ever been written down, or just passed on in the (not so) common folklore (which is how I heard about it).
