Yosemite Blog Photo of the Day: Lower Yosemite Falls

January 6, 2005 by Loyd

yosfalls.jpgPhotoblog.ragmus.com is a collective photoblog and I must say, their work is excellent. This great shot of Lower Yosemite Falls was taken by Vinh and is the inaugural Yosemite Blog Photo of the Day.

Yosemite Blog Photo of the Day will be chosen Monday through Friday (weekends are for me to take my own shots ya’ know) and posted as soon as I find someplace warm to sit down and write the post.

If you have a favorite shot of Yosemite or a site you’d like me to take a look at then, by all means, send me the URL. You can email me directly at loydatyosemiteblog.com. Don’t forget to change the “at” to @ or your email won’t get through. Thanks a lot!

Anthony Dunn Photography: Excellence in photography.

January 5, 2005 by Loyd

A few years back I came across a great collection of photos of Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada and I just had to share it. Anthony Dunn takes some of the most fantastic photos I have ever seen. Truly a top notch photographer. His photos of the Sierra Nevada foothills and Northern California are awesome.

Great Sale on Winter Outdoor Gear

January 5, 2005 by Loyd

With all the snow in Yosemite over the past week and much more to come many winter sports enthusiasts are eagerly waiting the storms to abate so they can get out and play. Just in time for winter fun REI-Outlet is running a giant sale with everything from ski’s to bib and boots on sale and marked way down. With names like Rosignol and Salomon these deals are sure to go fast.

Can’t wait to try my hand at cross country skiing. Get your gear quick before the snow and the deals are gone.

Bracebridge Dinner a Delight to Holiday Revellers

January 5, 2005 by Loyd

Redlands Daily Facts: “At the sound of the trumpets, our servers paraded into the dining room with trays aloft to present the peacock pie, served piping hot.

“Peacock pie?” the incredulous diner to my left inquired, her face puckered in disbelief and faint distaste. “Why, of course, Madame,” answered the waiter, a mischievous smile curling the corners of his mouth.”
