Hetch Hetchy Dam

I took this photo a few years back on one of our daytrips. The dam lies down Evergreen Road just before you enter the park and is prime rattlesnake breeding ground so watch where you step.

Loyd,
I visited Hetch Hetchy for the first time this May. I was blown away at how much it looked like Yosemite Valley. Except for the large amount of water and the giant dam. It didn’t take a lot of imagination to picture the place before the dam. It was a little like visiting a graveyard.
It may take a hundred years to restore the Hetch Hetchy valley but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be done.
