Yosemite Blacked Out During Sorm
Modesto Bee: Yosemite National Park had a power blackout and slick roads during a Sunday storm that turned out to be fairly mild in Modesto.
The six-hour power loss affected about 9,800 customers in Mariposa County, including the park and the communities of Mariposa and Bear Valley, Pacific Gas & Electric Co. spokesman David Eisenhauer said.
He said investigators have not determined whether the storm caused the blackout, which happened on a major transmission line from Exchequer Dam just before 8 a.m.
The storm briefly closed the uphill lane of Badger Pass Road and made for slow going on other roads in Yosemite, park ranger Adrienne Freeman said.

We were at Badger Pass when the power was down. The poor guy at the cross-country ski/snowshoe rental shop had to run all the credit cards by hand and figure tax on paper. We were nice and paid cash.
