New Construction Schedule for the El Portal Road Construction

Spring is coming quickly bringing with it warmer temperatures and melting snow. In an effort to get above the level of the Merced River before it reaches full spring flow the contractor working on the El Portal road at “the narrows” is moving to 3 shifts with construction continuing 24 hours a day.

The new work schedule is:

Monday through Saturday - 30 minute delays from 6 am until 10 pm
Sunday through Thursday nights - closure from 10 pm until 6 am with one opening at 11 pm

They will also begin working Sunday nights. This will mean the traffic lights will only be used on weekend nights and Sunday.

Please plan your entry/exit route accordingly.

Has there been any shifting/movement of the Ferguson Rockslide on Hwy 140 this winter?
