Cough cough wheeze
It’s incredibly smokey, it’s hard to breathe and it sucks right now with the smoke from all the fires. The real one close to the park is the Aurora Fire close to Mariposa and there’s another down by the Tuolumne. If you’re interested in seeing where all the fires in California are right now here’s a google map that shows their locatio.
Advice, and it’s good advice, is don’t go out in this stuff if you don’t have to. The wind came up today where I’m at and the smoke got so thick that at 4pm it looked like dusk. A low pressure is expected to move up from the south this weekend to help blow the smoke out but it’s also expected to bring more thunder storms to the Sierra with more lightning strikes and more fires.
For over 30 years now I've enjoyed hiking, backpacking, fishing, photographing and exploring Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada.
