Tioga Pass Open a Few Days More
If you want to do something memorable this Thanksgiving try heading up to Tuolumne Meadows. Yup, Tioga Pass is still open and you can still get through. Better hurry though. Come Friday there’s snow expected down to 8,000 feet with rain at lower elevations. I think that’ll pretty much be it for the Tioga Road for the season.

We arrived at Yosemite on Friday November 25th and found Tioga Pass had already been closed. We really were not prepared for the hoardes of people at Yosemite for Thanksgiving. Much to our chagrin, the park was packed. I don’t know where we got the idea that people would stay home for the holidays! lol.
