Highway 140 Opened Just In Time For Memorial Day

Dane from over at the Business-Opportunities weblog sent me a note to let me know Caltrans has opened Highway 140 from Mariposa to El Portal and into Yosemite. You may remember this section of road was closed due to several rock slides along the road the most major blocking both lanes.

Whew. This closure was causing ~90 minute delays in getting through the park gates at the other entrances.

That would have severely messed up our wedding schedule!

Any idea how long the delays will be along 140 because of this? It seems like it would be kind of a headache! (our wedding is the day before Kris’ so we are also eagerly checking out this site and other conditions pages!)

It looks like 140 was re-closed!
