Don’t Feed ‘em

Don’t do this. No matter how much you want to, don’t. Animals who become dependent on human handouts soon forget to forage for themselves and when they’re not able to obtain human food in the winter months often die. Don’t even get me started on rabies, hantavirus or the bubonic plague.

Just don’t feed ‘em. They have plenty of food around. If you want to feed something give a bum a Big Mac.

There are always hungry people in Camp 4.

Further, overfed squirrels are perfect prey for cougars. People leave, the squirrels, sick and unable to forage for themselves, and cougars hunt them.

That leaves *me* in the valley with cougars and the jerks that fed the squirrels have left for their safe city homes.

There is a $5000 fine for feeding the animals, and if I see you doing it, I WILL report you to NPS.

    Capice?
